A Delicious Recipe For The Family; How To Make Okro & Ugu Soup

There are week days or weekends when the family is looking for something different to try, days when you just dot want to regular predictable meal on the table.
If making a different soup such as Okro&Ugu soup has ever been a thought and you didn’t know how to go about it, you are in luck, below are the ingredients and recipes required to make this delicious south-Nigerian soup.
Recipe for 4 servings:
2 large fish (dried)
2 cups fresh okro (grated or sliced)
1 kilogram meat
3 tablespoons ground crayfish
1 teaspoon ground pepper
2 small red pepper (ground)
3 cooking spoons palm oil
2 bunches fresh ugu leaves (shredded)
1 large stockfish
2 cups isam (periwinkles)
½ kilogram ponmo

Method:
Wash, season and cook the meat, ponmo and stockfish until tender. Add the dried fish, isam and crayfish including enough salt and seasoning to taste. Cook for 10 minutes before adding the pepper, ugu leaves and grated okro. Stir thoroughly and add the onion, pepper and palm oil. Stir again and simmer for few minutes without covering the pot. Remove from heat and serve, steaming hot with fufu, pounded yam, semovita, eba, or any swallow of your choice.
