African Farmers and Cultural Organisation to host Congress in October!
African Farmers and Cultural Organisation (AFCO), a nongovernmental, nonprofit organisation has concluded plans to host its National Membership Congress as well as inaugurate the African Crops and Cultural Festival, scheduled to hold later in October 2018 in Lagos.
AFCO President, Chukwunwike Esiole gave the information in Lagos at a get-together for old and prospective members of the organisation.
According to him, AFCO’s modest efforts in the last quarter have helped in no small measure to boost farming and food distribution in the country.
While noting that the unemployment rate is still at its highest peak, he however expressed optimism with a positive approach by government, stakeholders and other agro-allied industries, the populace can be taken care of as far as food production and distribution is concerned.
The AFCO boss who expressed confidence in the partnerships and synergy of cooperation with multilateral agencies such as the African Union, United Nations and The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), further hinted that the organisation is open to other forms of cooperation within and outside African continent regardless of locations and stimulation of projects that will assist in increasing farming and cultural infrastructure in Africa.
He emphasised the need for cross border relations that will further create an enabling atmosphere for bilateral trade as well as empower the youths whilst further boosting the economy of the nation through expansion of businesses in the agro-allied sector amongst others.
He noted that despite the challenges the organisation faced in terms of funding and other issues coupled with the present financial situation of the economy, AFCO would achieve much feat in the last quarter.
