Two Nigerian teenage prodigies by the name of Eveshorhema Samuel-Alli and Ibukunoluwa Oladeinde, have reportedly come up with a way of treating mouth odour with the African walnut.
They made this discovery while representing Nigeria at the 2014 Intel International Science and Engineering Fair in Los Angeles, California, USA where they earned the Life Science Award of $1,000 in the Medicine and Health Science category, courtesy, Sigma Xi Scientific Research Society.

Eveshorhema revealed that they were on a school trip to a rural area in Nigeria where the host community served them walnuts. Upon waking up in the morning, she realized her breath still smelled fresh and that prompted her to conduct research on it.
To confirm if it was the walnut that was really at play, she consumed more nuts the following night and again she wok up with fresh breath. She then decided to investigate this phenomenon further.
